Hamilton writer wins U.S. trip
PA Wellington A Hamilton writer, Mrs Joan Druett, has won this year’s Fulbright Visiting Writers Fellowship. Mrs Druett is the author of a history of acclimatisation in New Zealand, "Exotic Intruders,” which won the 1984 P.E.N. Best First Book of Prose Award. She will travel to the United States to do research for another book about women who accompanied whalers to the Pacific between 1840 and 1880 P
