LION BROWN'S RACING TIPS

When a well known owner like Clarrie Rhodes forks out over two thousand dollars to make one of his three year olds a late entry in a rich filly series you can safely assume he has big wraps in the filly concerned. He should get some return in the very first heat of the series when FREE’S BEST lines up on the fifth at Addington tonight

In fact the youngster looks an anchor for the treble judging by her game effort last time when everything was against her. She’s not going to be favourite either with talented sorts like Michelle Bromac, Laudit and Prestwick in the field but the ace draw is a big factor in her favour.

Conversely if ever an owner needed a change of luck it would have to be Terry McDonald. His trotter FRONT UP has twice been beaten by the proverbial whisker at Addington recently and for a while there the first time even the judge sided with Terry until he had a close look at several photo finish prints. Front Up looks bound for the best classes and he should win the second with the consistent SPRINGFIELD COMMAND a likely quinella mate.

West Melton trainer Robert Dunn has been looking for a change of

luck recently too and he has certainly had it in the last week or so. But LATE LUSTRE is the stable member who has had things against her time after time recently. Against her again in the fourth at Addington is the ace draw which is not what it might look on paper at the 2000 m peg. But she is a good each way prospect and could bob up in the trifecta.

While Robert was enjoying himself at Nelson on the weekend everything was going wrong for Max Miller but things could change when MENDELSPRIDE lines up in the Gainsborough Mobile Trot. I’d be surprised if she missed a place. Bet of the night at Addington should be BIONIC CHANCE and the odds might be better than you’d expect.

I hear tell SEA WORLD was a bit unlucky at Nelson but the tide should turn from the mobile in the fifth at Blenheim tomorrow which is also the first leg of the treble. He looks like clearing maidens any old time and is worth following as is his stablemate DYNAMIC BEAT.

IN THE PINK really is but unfortunately will be ’red hot’ in the trot so better odds may come in other races from MAGIC NAT, EMBARK, and the local speedster FRIENDLY LORD who could upset them in the last.
