Victim too ill to talk
PA Auckland A West Auckland stabbing victim, Miss Kim Jones, was still too ill last evening to give detectives further information about her attacker, the police said. Auckland Hospital staff described her condition as serious and causing concern. She suffered a punctured lung, perforated liver, a slashed wrist and other chest and arm wounds when stabbed six times by a man who had followed her along a road and dragged her into bush. A detective yesterday visited her in the criticalcare unit, but she was coherent for only a few minutes. Detective Senior-Ser-geant Barry Pickering, of the Henderson C. 1.8., said Miss Jones, aged 18, would not be able to give details of the attack for some days.
