Water study supported
Wellington reporter The North Canterbury Catchment Board’s fiveyear groundwater investigation, at an estimated cost of $1,570,000, has received support in principle. The National Water and Soil Conservation Author-
ity has recommended to the Minister of Works and Development, Mr Colman, that a 60 per cent grant of $942,000 be given to the project. However, it has also recommended that he defer approval for the first two years of the project.
