Historic building restoration entries
PA Wellington The Historic Places Trust has received about 90 entries for its $lO,OOO historic building restoration awards, to mark its thirtieth anniversary. Entries for the award, sponsored by the Pla-
cemakers chain of building material centres closed on Friday. The four categories are domestic residences, commercial or industrial buildings, public or com-' munity-owned buildings, and churches and other buildings owned by religious organisations. The winner in each category will receive $2OOO. A further $2OOO will be divided among the highly commended entries.
The judges are a Dunedin architect, Mr Ted McCoy; Mr Rex Ni- . cholls, a Wellington city councillor and property I restorer; and an Auckland architect, Mr Jeremy Salmond. The three will meet on ■ February 11 and may inspect some entries.
