Rental car workers threaten action
PA Dunedin Workers in the rental car industry in Dunedinare threatening to take industrial action in support of their pay claim. The workers, who are members of the Clerical Workers’ Union, will to hold meetings in Dunedin and at the airport today. The Union’s secretary, Mr A. J. Duncan, said rental car staff had to rely on weekend and shift work to give them a living wage. The union had a commitment to get rental car workers the same pay as other clerical workers. He said the union would be recommend to today’s meetings that if a settlement is not reached when the union meets the employers on February 25, national industrial action be taken.
