No offer made in bank talks
PA Wellington No progress was made on the first day of trading bank award talks in Wellington yesterday. The Bank Officers’ Union president, Ms Angela Foulkes, said employers had failed to respond to a union claim for a 21 per cent wage increase. The talks will resume at 9 a.m. today. Ms Foulkes hoped employers would put a wage offer. The union seeks a flat 21 per cent increase, to compensate for loss of spending power since 1982, and restructuring of gradings.
