N.Z. gold
New Zealand’s gold production will increase to an estimated 3000 kg a year after 1990 from an estimated 1400 kg in 1985 end December, the Mines Department said. Gold production is expected to increase rapidly in three years as hard-rock mining begins in the historical gold mining areas of the North Island. ,i The majority of production is I now from small alluvial mines on the West Coast of the South Island.
