‘High Chaparral’ actor dies
NZPA-AP Pensacola, Florida Leif Erickson, an actor perhaps. best remembered for his portrayal of Big John Cannon in the television series, “The High Chaparral,” died yesterday of lung cancer. He was 74 -7 . Erickson's career began in the 1939 s when he starred in a Greta Garbo film. His debut on Broad-
way was in “Golden Boy,” in 1937. Other films included “Joan of Arc,” “Show Boat,” “With a Song in my Heart,” and “The Carpetbaggers.”
Erickson also appeared on the television programmes, “Wagon Train,” “Alcoa Hour,” and “Hazel.” He once headed Florida's chapter of the American Cancer Society.
