N.Z. Pet. profit
PA Wellington A listed oil explorer, New Zealand Petroleum Company, Ltd, has made an interim profit of $380,000 for the six months ended November 30. The profit was based on revenue of $BO,OOO ($43,000), but includes unrealised exchange gains of
$613,000. Last year there were exchange losses of $154,000 giving an interim loss of $378,000 for a nine month period ended November 30, 1984. Exploration costs of $105,000 in respect of a surrendered licence were written off. Total exploration expenditure to date is $5,576,000.
