Roundabouts
Sir, — Whoever thought up the idea of city roundabouts should receive the highest praise. Three cases come to mind. The Riccarton roundabout on the corner by the Riccarton Hotel, the one a little further up the road
by the Blenheim Road overbridge, and the corner of Marshland and Briggs Roads. What a relief they are. I think it would be impossible in the case of the first-mentioned to control this road with lights. It might be worth considering a roundabout on the corner of Papanul and Harewood Roads. — Yours, etc., TOM ANDERSON. January 29, 1986.
