Peninsula drafting

Young farmers did well in the first lamb drafting competition run by the Banks Peninsula A. and P. Association at its annual show on January 18. In a competition with one or two surprises among the lambs presented, two Banks Peninsula Young Farmers Club members, C. Barnes and

W. B. Masefield, recorded the best scores. Their scores were 1270 and 1266 respectively out of a possible 1800 points for correctly estimating carcase weights, grades and wool pull. Third in the Y.F.C. class was V. J. Relling, 1189.

The best score in the professional class, open to drafters, stock agents and farmers, was P. Lanknow with 1262, second J. Stronach, 1255, and third W. E. Haley with 1230. In the public class P. F. Le Lievre scored 1181, followed by H. Lindsay, 1109, and D. R. Parker, 836.
