A. Scobie appeal
PA Invercargill The Winton .reinsman, Alan Scobie, has failed in his appeal against the suspension imposed on him at the Winton Trotting Club’s meeting on December 28.
Scobie was suspended for a month after an incident in the dying stages of the third heat of the Southland OaksJ Scobie drove As You Were, which got into the back of Ollie’s Chance’s sulky and impeded its progress at a time when they were two of the principals in the finish. In dismissing the appeal, the appeal judges ruled the interference was caused through Scobie’s deliberate acts in attempting to push As You Were into gaps that were not available. That caused Ollie’s Chance to be seriously interfered with.
