Stakes rivals step lively
When a galloper of the prowess of Canterbury Belle sets foot on a notoriously fast training track like Riccarton's No. 1 grass something noteworthy is bound to happen. Those two Ingredients made for the highlight of final gallops yesterday for the first day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting tomorrow. Earlier her race rival, Dainty Dish, sprinted 800 in 49.4, quickening impressively for the last 600 In 34.8.
Grant Davison will be Dainty Dish’s race rider in the Stakes.
