N.Z. signs container agreement

The New Zealand Meat Board has signed an agreement with Poland and Transamerica I.C.S. involving dry cargo freight containers. The agreement is part of its counter-trade arrangement for sheep meat sales to Poland.

The contract with Kolmex, the Polish company responsible for container exports, involves buying up to $6O million worth of containers over three years.

The containers will be managed by Transamerica I.C.S. as part of its international fleet under a leasing and sales arrangement. Transamerica I.C.S. is one of the world’s largest container leasing companies.

The deal has been developed over the last four months and involved Jarden and Company and Neill Cropper and Company.
