Local honeymoons more popular

Overseas honeymoons are getting beyond the reach of many New Zealand couples who prefer to pay for a house together rather than a bigspending trip abroad.

A new addition to the Akaroa Village Inn is a honeymoon suite for overseas and New Zealand couples alike.

Since it was opened three months ago, the lavish suite has been highly recommended by many guests for its beautiful view of Akaroa Harbour, looking towards the old lighthouse. Situated on the first floor, the suite has been designed in the colours of pale apricot and cream, lending an over-all calm, serene, and relaxing atmosphere to the room. There is a queen-sized water-bed, and a spa-bath for two, which is situated behind two large glass sliding doors. The in-house video system is another popular feature of the suite. The colour television can be enjoyed whether you are seated on the two-

seater couch, or at the dining table for two. This is tastefully made of brass and glass. For $B5 a night, the

suite has proved popular with many couples, young and old. It has been well booked up since it opened.

Couples hoping to stay in the new suite are advised to book a few weeks in advance.
