Brewer bid by Bond

NZPA-Reuter New York West Australian entrepreneur, Mr Alan Bond, Is making a takeover bid for Pittsburgh Brewing Company to add to his Swan Brewery network. Swan announced that it is offering to buy all shares of Pittsburgh Brewing Company for US2ISOC a share in cash. Pittsburgh Brewing has about 1,300,000 shares outstanding. In a newspaper advertisement, Swan said the offer was conditional on the receipt of at least 472,156 common shares — a condition that may be waived — and on termination of Pittsburgh Brewing’s proposed leveraged buy-out by Brewed, Inc. In a press release made separately, Swan said it had acquired about 14.9 per cent of Pittsburgh Brewing’s shares before starting its tender offer yesterday.
