Women’s groups want definition

PA Wellington Women’s groups are pressuring the Accident Compensation Corporation to say what side effects from intra-uterine contraceptive devices will be eligible for compensation. A recent corporation ruling apparently made it easier for women injured by copper I.U.D.S to claim for compensation. However, women’s groups say there are still vague areas in deciding eligibility.

Recently, a corporation review officer overruled an earlier refusal by the corporation to pay out to a woman whose device became embedded in her uterus.

The ruling effectively made it easier for women injured by wearing the device to claim compensation. However, the women’s groups are still not clear about what constitutes a legitimate claim and say that corporation definition is sadly lacking.
