Two face drug charges
PA Auckland A Christchurch barman, Colin Vernon Stokes, and Eru Lucian Hall, a car wrecker, have been charged with trying to obtain 109,200 Panadeine tablets by false pretence. The police alleged in the District Court at Auckland on Saturday that Stokes, aged 39, and Hall, aged 34, of no fixed abode, pretended to the
manufacturers of the codeine-based drug that they were employees of a pharmacy wholesale company. They allegedly tried to obtain also 24 units of Fergon Elixir. The drugs they sought were valued at $3853. Judge Gilbert remanded them in custody for a week without plea.
