Britons still prefer beer
NZPA-AP London Beer is still Britain’s favourite alcoholic drink but consumption has fallen by three million pints a day in the last five years, according to a report.
About 30 million pints are drunk every day but higher prices caused by Budget duty increases have meant an 11 per cent drop in consumption, or one billion pints a year, since the peak years of 1979 to 1980, said the Brewers’ Society.
