Surf carnival postponed
The Canterbury Surf Lifesaving Association's inter-club carnival was postponed because of the unfavourable weather conditions yesterday. The carnival, which was to have been held at Spencerville will now be held next Sunday at the same beach. A strong wind and heavy rain forced officials to abandon the carnival, although the
surf was flat and the water temperature a mild 19deg. Canterbury surf life-savers wiU now face a hectic three weeks. Next week-end’s carnival will be followed by the two day Canterbury championships a week later, and the South Island championships in Christchurch the week after that
