Trivia reigns on ‘Trapper John’

I’M NOT ONE TO GOSSIP BUT ... everyone here is mad on “Trivial Pursuit,” along with the cast and crew of “Trapper John M.D.” As soon as the director calls cut, everyone makes a mad dash for the game to take up where they left off. There is a continual game going on and, as actors or crew members have spare time, they sit in. I was on the set yesterday and playing was Pernell Roberts, Gregory Harrison, and Lorna Luft but the reigning champ is Charles Siebert, who plays Dr Stanley. Mary .Crosby, who was made famous as the woman who shot J.R. in “Dallas,” is now going around America with her husband Eb, promoting peace marches. The first one will be in a couple of weeks, here in Hollywood.

Bob Newhart was a heavy smoker until his recent health problems when doctors made him stop, but now Bob can’t stand the smell of cigarettes. To make sure nobody smokes, he had the studio carpenters make a no-smoking sign and hang it right in front of his set. So far so good. Marlon Brando’s son, Christian,

is not interested in acting at all, in fact he’s started his own tree-cutting company. Now that he has quite a good little company, many of the Beverley Hills stars are using him to look after their trees.
