Bid to catch vandals

Vandals , have been damaging the Post Office’s street posting boxes in Christchurch more than usual lately — and the Post Office has had enough. The Chief Postmaster in Christchurch, Mr Syd Bradley, said the Post Office was working with the police to try to catch the vandals. “Vandalism of the posting boxes, is a continuing problem, but the number of incidents has increased markedly over the last two months,” Mr Bradley said. The boxes were provided as a service to the public, so any vandalism should be reported if people wanted to have the convenience . of street posting boxes, he said. The Post Office apologised for any inconvenience caused by damaged boxes, and would repair the damage as soon as possible.
