Union to reject offer?
PA Auckland Air New Zealand kitchen staff are expected to reject a wage offer made by the airline yesterday, the “New Zealand Herald” reports. Officials of the Hotel Workers’ Union last evening expressed disappointment at the offer, which followed two days of talks, and will report to a stopwork meeting in Auckland today. During a two-day strike last week, flights left New Zealand without food or liquor. Provisions for most Air New Zealand domestic flights came from other kitchens. Details of the offer were not available last evening. The union was seeking just over 18 per cent more for the 300 staff covered by the award.
