SCIENTIST This position involves the development of specialised Instruments for use In remote sensing. The successful applicant will be expected to extend the capabilities of some of our existing designs, and to conceive, develop and place In manufacture designs of their own. Applicants should have a good degree in science or engineering and have a proven ability In low power analogue and digital design together with the ability to see the resulting product through to commercial manufacturer. SCIENCE TECHNICIAN Due to the continued expansion of the D.S.I.R. computer network, a technician Is required to oversee the day to day operation of the hardware and communication links. The D.S.I.R. network consists of five primary nodes each supporting a number of DEC VAX’s. The commun’cation between the VAX’s and a large number J. nation wide users Is provided by an inhouse network based on DEC LSI 11/73 and 11/23 processors. The network technician will be expected to be involved in all aspects of the network’s continual growth including the design of specialised hardware and the Installation of computer services to D.S.I.R. sites.
