Man, 98, completes walkathon
NZPA-AFP Taipei A 98-year-old man has completed a 10km walkathon in 90 minutes, says Taiwan’s Central News Agency. The agency did not mention the placing of the nonagenarian, Chiang Teng-Mao, in the seventh annual Taiwan-Japan wal-
kathon, held at Hualien, eastern Taiwan, but said he did not finish last. Mr Chiang had been running I.6km daily for the last 40 years, it said. His son, grandson and great-grandson were also among the 500 Taiwanese and Japanese runners who took part in the race.
