Legal case against Rakiura intended
Wellington reporter The Reserve Bank is intending to take legal action against Rakiura Holdings, said a spokesman for the bank, Mr Brian Pope, yesterday. He was clarifying a comment in “The Press” on Wednesday which said it would be unwise to assume that the bank would necessarily take legal action against Rakiura which defaulted on a $lOO million Government stock tender.
What legal options were available to the bank was still a matter for its solid-
tors, he said. The bank had made efforts to find Mr Brian Alexander, the principal shareholder of Rakiura Holdings, through its solicitor and the company secretary, but had not taken action through Government channels.
