Abortion clinic protests
Sir, — lam one of the many, usually silent middle-of-the-road people who are not supporters of abortion on demand or no abortions at all. However, I can no longer remain silent. The present behaviour of the anti-abortion lobby protesting at Lyndhurst appals me. It has obviously taken a lot of thought and courage for ’ the staff to take up their positions at the clinic, especially In the face of such nastiness. Do these people not know the trauma women go through when they decide or need to have an abortion? I have no desire to stop anyone’s right to protest, but please anti-abortionists do your, protesting in a rational manner. Spare some of the compassion you have for the babies, for the patients and staff of Lyndhurst whom I believe you are treating unfairly. They need it 'too. — Yours, etc., CHRISTINE E. ROBERTSON. Greymouth, January 20, 1986.
