Children’s art
The Pentel International Children’s Art exhibition is organised annually by the president of Pentel in Japan. The firm, which manufactures art materials in that country, gathers together the art of children. For the second time the children’s exhibition showing at the C.S.A. Gallery has been cosponsored by Whitcoulls. The purpose of the touring exhibition is to promote
a more peaceful understanding between countries and give New Zealand children a chance to compare the lifestyles and cultures of other countries. The exhibition of about 100 pieces features the work of children from Japan, Singapore, Paraguay and Canada. The young artists are aged between five and 14, and the exhibition includes oils, pastels and screenprints.
