Heathcote county
Sir, — Heathcote councillors attend at the very minimum 60 meetings, numerous phone calls and inspections on our behalf and the monetary reward they receive does not cover their out-of-pocket expenses. L. G. Heron (June 22) might tell us what he does in the same area to justify his plaint about two concert tickets. I am concerned that Crs Alpers and Taylor are considering resigning because the walkway vote did not go their way. As representatives of the county they must realise that their private dream is not their only council work. — Yours, etc., D. M. McDOWELL. July 1, 1983.
