Thrust improving

PA Hastings Thrust stripped in great condition at Hastings yesterday and has obviously thrived since his race at last Saturday’s Hawke’s Bay meeting. Galloping was carried out on the plough (fast) and the No 1 grass (easy). Thrust faces a tough assignment this Saturday when he contests the Whyte Handicap at Trentham, but any rain will enhance his chances. His trainer, Mike Lange, rode Thrust yesterday morning and worked him over an easy 800 m on the plough, the last 600 m in 43 seconds.
