Residents return after eruption

NZPA Volcano Weary residents were allowed to return to their homes and officials breathed easy yesterday as Kilauea volcano’s most destructive rampage of the year appeared to draw to a close, said officials. By late yesterday, the tally stood at eight structures destroyed during the three-day molten assault on the battered sudbivision, said the Hawaii County civil defence administrator, Mr Harry Kim. He planned to wait until the lava cooled, and then “see what we’ve got.'
