Rail bridges win award

PA Wellington Three railway bridges designed by the consulting engineers, Beca, Carter, Rollings and Ferner, Ltd, have won the 1983 Association of Consulting Engineers

New Zealand award of merit, the association has announced. The . bridges span the major river valleys of the Mangaweka to Utiku deviation. Merit certificates went to the consulting engineers, Kerslake and Partners, who designed the Takapau meatprocessing works, and Thorburn Davidson Associates and Leyland Watson and Noble for improving a power station and building a new station on the Hinemaiaia River site near Taupo.
