Contracts examined
NZPA London Lord’s confirmed yesterday that lawyers are searching for a financial formula to deter English test cricketers defecting to South Africa.
They are examining the possibility of issuing contracts that will tie players
to England for 12 months at a time.
Although South African cricket authorities are now concentrating on this winter’s West Indian rebel tour, they will not hesitate to sign up any leading English players who let it be known they are available.
