Hibbert wins squash open
Craig Hibbert (Linwood) overcame a slow start to beat John Oakley (Christchurch Football), 4-9, 9-5, 96, 9-6 in the Burnside open squash tournament yesterday. Hibbert won the fastmoving final in 53min. The women’s final was short — just 26min — but there was still a good supply of shot-making as Kathy Hargreaves, the top seed, beat her fellow Burnside club player, Susan Wasley, 2-9, 9-7, 9-5, 9-2. Results:— MEN Open.— Quarter-finals: J. H. Christensen (Sumner) beat J. Knight (H. 5.0.8. 9-6, 5-9, 9-2, 10-8; J. B. Oakley (Christchurch Football) beat B.
