Family just wants to forget
PA Wellington Gloria Kong’s family just wants to forget their terrifying experience and quickly get back to their normal life. Her relieved father, an Oamaru market gardener, Mr Jimmy Kong, said yesterday that his daughter’s kidnapping had been “a very frightening and worrying experience and one which we all want to forget as soon as possible.” In a statement released through the police in Oamaru he said he and his wife, Sue, wished to thank the police and all those involved in helping to get Gloria back safely. Mr Kong said he was also very grateful for the news media keeping quiet while Gloria was held. “I was worried what might have happened if details had been published,” he said.
