Detention for soldier
A soldier has been sentenced to 120 days detention after being found guilty of theft and fraud charges by an Army court-martial sitting at the Burnham Military Camp. Private Scott Pihama faced four charges of fraud and one of theft. The charges related to the fraudulent presentations of cheques. He pleaded guilty to two of the charges and
not guilty to three of them. He was found guilty of three charges of fraud and one of theft, and was found not guilty on one charge. Pihama, a member of the 2/1 Battalion at Burnham Camp, was sentenced to 120 days detention at the services corrective establishment at Ardmore. Major R. N. Walker presided, and the judge advocate was Mr D. H. Brown.
