Landowners and occupiers are reminded of their obligation to clean the races through their respective properties and also to CUT ALL FENCES and REMOVE ALL GORSE, BROOM, AND ALL OTHER GROWTH OVERHANGING ALL RACES, including those cleaned by the Council. All fence trimmings must be removed Immmediately from the races. This requirement applies throughout the whole system, that is throughout the PAPARUA, ELLESMERE AND WAIMAIRI WATER RACE SUPPLY AREA. Failure to adequately clean races by September 30, 1983, will result In action being taken by the Council. Action will also be taken against persons whose gorse, broom and other growth Interferes with the Council cleaning operations.
