SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER A SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER is required for the Christchurch Branch to assist with the supervision of an enthusiastic welfare team. We would welcome enquiries from Social Workers with administrative experience and recognised counselling skills. The work involves assisting the Branch Manager with the supervision of welfare services to visually handicapped persons in their homes, organising training programmes for welfare staff and providing guidance and support to volunteers, and liaison with other kindred agencies. Duties will include regular travel out of Christchurch and personal responsibility for a substantial case load. Salary is in accordance with experience and qualifications. The principal duty of the appointee is to provide a legal and technical service to district offices in the Waikato Region regarding the recovery of income tax arrears. This will involve staff training, opinion work, oral advice and consultation, and the occasional travel in the region. The Appointee will also be required, from time to time, to give advice on the interpretation of income tax legislation and other legislation administered by the Inland Revenue Department.
