Situations Vacant Situations Vacant ACCOUNTANT u::v SENIOR APPOINTMENTS NEW ZEALAND STEEL, LTD, situated at Glenbrook, South Auckland, is a highly successful New Zealand owned company which manufactures and processes a wide range of steel products. In the 1982-83 financial year, New Zealand Steel had sales in excess of $263 million and a net profit of $19.9 million. Major expansion work has commenced which will significantly increase our product range and production capacity. As a result of the expansion we have a number of new vacancies. SYSTEMS ACCOUNTANT The company operates an integrated management accounting system which incorporates sophisticated budgeting, standard cost, and current value accounting techniques. The department is currently being enlarged and restructured to better meet the future on-going accounting requirements resulting from the expansion. The incumbent will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining all the major financial modelling projects such as the five year profit plan, training of other staff in the use and operation of these models, plus special feasibility studies. The ideal applicant should be qualified, having a commerce degree and/or A.C.A. with a minimum of 2 years experience in the development of large-scale financial modelling packages such as I.F.P.S. and E.P.S., plus involvement with computers, and experience in financial analysis. Good communication skills and potential to develop with this new position is essential. SALES ACCOUNTANT This is a new position created within the department which is currently being enlarged and restructured to better meet the future on-going accounting requirements resulting from the expansion. The incumbent will have responsibility for the accounting of all product sales, including sales reporting and analysis, credit control involving a high degree of customer contact, and acting as principle link with the marketing division providing relevant cost and credit information. The applicants should be qualified having a commerce degree and/or A.C.A. w’ith at least 3-5 years practical experience, ideally in the credit control area within industry. We are looking for people with good communication skills and potential to develop with the new position.
