Power Board promotion
Mr B. W. Laing has been appointed general manager of the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board. Mr Laing will succeed Mr P. D. Rutledge, who will leave the board in August to take a post in Indonesia with a New Zealand consultancy firm. Mr Laing was previously assistant general manager of administration with the board. He joined the board as a meter reader in 1968, and since then has worked as assistant secretary and secretary-treasurer.
