Pilots busy tomorrow
Lyttelton Harbour Board pilots will be kept busy tomorrow with 10 shipping movements scheduled for the day. r, It will be the busiest we have been for some time,” the Harbourmaster, Captain J. A. Barbour, said.
Six ships are expected to arrive and four are scheduled to leave during the day. Scheduled to arrive today are the coastal container ship Union Nelson and the interisland freight ferry Spirit of Free Enterprise. Other regular callers due are the Amokura, carrying petroleum products from Marsden Point, and the car carrier Toyo Fuji No. 8, which visits Lyttelton carrying car components from Japan.
Also calling tomorrow are the tanker Orkanger, which will discharge methanol, and the Provincia de el Oro, which has a cargo of bananas. Two vessels are scheduled to arrive and depart the same day. The Union Nelson is expected to leave for Onehunga and the Orkanger should sail for Wellington. Other vessels expected to sail are the Aso Maru, a Japanese fishing boat, and the 53,784-ton container ship, Tolaga Bay, which is also a regular caller at port. ARRIVALS
