Student union leaves assn
PA Hamilton The Waikato Technical Institute’s Student Union has decided to withdraw from its national association.
The New Zealand Technical Institute Students’ Association had failed to work effectively for its members, said the Waikato president, Mr lan Larsen. “While in principle we believe in national associations for students we feel the association as it works now is ineffective,” he said. Withdrawing from the New Zealand association would mean that the Waikato association would have an extra $12,000 in levies for next year, Mr Larsen said.
