Canadians eye N.Z. route
NZPA staff correspondent Hong Kong
Canadian representatives at the A.S.E.A.N. Ministerial meeting have raised the possibility of C.P. Air coming into the South Pacific and New Zealand in the future, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Cooper, has said in Bangkok. “This may be a possibility for the future,” said Mr Cooper.
However, he said, it would be over to the relevant civil aviation authorities to decide whether air routes should be made available. Mr Cooper also said, after discussions with the Canadians at the meeting, that Canada was keen for New Zealand to exhibit at its 1986 Expo. “I hope the private sector can involve itself in this,” said Mr Cooper.
