Bus lights

Sir,—The Christchurch Transport Board mini-bus that passes through South Brighton before 6 a.m. displays four distinctive lights at the top of the driver’s cabin. Would that all buses had this. At some city stops it is impossible to recognise an approaching bus in the evening. — Yours, etc., A. R. WRIGHT. June 14, 1983. [Mr M. G. Taylor, General Manager, Christchurch Transport Board, replies: “The point made by your correspondent is a valid one. A programme to install such lights on all the board’s buses has been started.”]
