Brenlaine draws outside barrier
NZPA-AAP Brisbane The top New Zealand sprinter Brenlaine — chasing the rich Elders-Roth-man’s One Hundred Thousand double — has had the misfortune to draw an outside barrier for the $122,500 Rothman’s feature at Doomben on Saturday. At a special Bernborough club luncheon at Doomben yeterday Brenlaine drew the No. 21. Bookmakers immediately lengthened his Rothman’s price to 6-1 after he shared
5-1 early favouritism with Nosey Parker and Toy Pindarri. The country-trained Nosey Parker was one of the gallopers to fare best in the draw and with the No. 6 slot has firmed to 4-1 outright favouritism. Toy Pindarri, a brilliant winner of last week’s Healy Stakes at Eagle Farm drew No. 17. Other prominent Rothman’s hopes in My Axeman drew seven, Open The Door 19, and Uno Petera 22.
