World’s richest bankers named
NZPA-Reuter New York Who is the world’s richest banker? That is hard to tell to the last penny, but the world's top 12 have fortunes of more than SUSI billion (?NZ1.52 billion) each, according to the “Institutional Investor” magazine. They include one West German, one Filipino, one Indonesian, one Thai, three from Singapore and Malaysia, and five Arabs, the American monthly financial periodical said in its latest edition. “The bankers listed in alphabetical order below are reliably estimated to be worth SUSI billion or more, individually in most cases, through family fortunes in others,” the magazine said. They are: August von Finck jun., Merck, Finck and Company, West Germany.

Sulaiman Saleh Olayan, Saudi British Bank, Saudi Arabia Saleh Abdul-Aziz Rajhi, al-Rajhi company, Saudi Arabia. Chin Sophonpanich, Bangkok Bank, Thailand. Abdul-Aziz Abdullah Sulaiman, Bank al Jazira, Saudi Arabia. Enrique Zobel, Ayala Corporation, the Philippines.
