Lamb shortage possible

PA Wellington New Zealand might be short of lamb to sell overseas next year, the Meat Board’s general manager, Mr Jim Bremner, forecast yesterday. Just back from Britain, Mr Bremner said that the

recent 100,000-tonne sale to a number of markets would return stocks in Britain and New Zealand to traditional levels by the end of 1983. He said he would not be surprised if New Zealand was short of lamb in 12 to 18 months if Middle East markets remained stable.
