Sterner cigarette warning

NZPA-Reuter Washington A United States Senate committee has voted to require a new, more explicit health warning label on all cigarette packets. The proposed label is: “Warning — cigarette smoking causes cancer, emphysema, heart disease, may complicate pregnancy, and is addictive.” The present lebel says: “Warning — the SurgeonGeneral has determined that cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health.” Cigarette companies will have about a year to change to the new label if it becomes law.
