Sovereign begins production
The directors of Sovereign Gold Mines, Ltd, announced yesterday that they have commenced production of gold seven weeks ahead of schedule. For the week ending June 21 the initial two recovery units operated at a recovery rate of 307 mg/cubic metre, having produced 777,000 mg of gold from processing 2530 cubic metres of alluvial ground. The recovery rate of 307 mg/cubic metre is 80.8 per cent ahead of the basic recovery rate used by the directors when assessing the profitability of the entire venture, they say.
